The Best of Pemberton - Locals choice

Welcome to Pemberton!  The land of sun, scenic Mount Currie, and well… potatoes.  Each year The Pique Newsmagazine polls the village residents for their votes on just what or who makes spud town so special.

Once all the results are in, the magazine runs a feature article to showcase the best of food and drink, media and arts, council, sports and recreation, shops and wares  as well as various other local lounges and favourite things to do. It’s a highly anticipated article as everyone is eager to learn who has topped this year’s list, and learn what hidden gems aren’t quite so secret anymore.

Naturally, any good contest publishing effort requires great art in the form of professional photography.  To document the feature, we took a day to ply the valley and meet with some of Pemberton’s contest winners as selected by the readers and residents. This is an annual event and Coast Photo has been pleased to provide coverage year after year.

Armed with a list of must have shots from the Pique we made some calls to arrange where and when we would meet with these fine folks as well as gain access to a few of the village attractions.

Below are a few of the featured photos.  Coast Mountain Photography excels at a number of photography mediums including great editorial photography as embraced by editors and publishers.  In 2014, our art for the Best of Pemberton feature helped Glacier Media Group get selected for a prestigious award for the 2014 B.C. and Yukon Community Newspaper Award for "Special Section" under 25,000 circulation.

Clare Ogilvie, editor of The Pique, had this to say of our efforts: “Pique has worked with Coast Mountain Photography for several years for our Best of Pemberton feature. The photos are a key piece of the success of the feature and always draw the reader in. They capture the spirit of the winners and the business. We know we can always count on Coast to give us their best work.”
